Must Try Dish of the Week: Chocolate Truffles at La Panetière, Rye

This is the best time of year for a few reasons. One of the most important being chocolate, of course. From yule logs to hot cocoa, ’tis the season for decadence. If you’re looking to indulge this holiday season, we recommend the chocolate truffles at La La Panetière in Rye.

Each one is a perfect round of buttery chocolate, lightly powdered with unsweetened cocoa. They melt in your mouth, gooey and velvety at once — it’s impossible to pop one and not feel happy. Go on, try it.

As is tradition, the dapper French restaurant is open on Christmas Day and will be ornamented in twinkling lights and draped in holiday greenery. Open from noon to 8 p.m., order a la carte or from the prix fixe menu, $85 per person for 6 courses, $130 with a wine pairing. And yes, the chocolate truffles are on the Christmas menu.
