New on the Dining Scene: Polpettina, Larchmont

The good news about the new Larchmont location of Polpettina, the popular Italian restaurant well known for its thin-crust pizzas, mouthwatering meatballs, and fried eggplant slices drizzled with local honey — not to mention occasional waits out the door for dinner: With about 50 seats, there’s nearly twice as much space.

The bad news: Just as in the Eastchester location, there are no reservations. But! Waiting for a table should be painless: In Larchmont, there is a full bar featuring thoughtfully created, well-balanced drinks that will delight cocktail lovers. Of particular note: the oversized ice cubes, which, aside from keeping the drinks cool, limits dilution. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into every aspect of this new space, which opened last week.
