We’re big advocates of shopping local. And with good reason. The Hudson Valley is brimming with talent, from crafters to vintners and everything in between.

In the market for some locally made wine and chocolate? The answer, of course, is yes, as Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. The Hudson Valley Wine and Chocolate Festival takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Feb. 9 at the  Putnam County Golf Course in Mahopac.

Guests will be able to opportunity to sample and shop handmade candy, local wine and spirits, prepared food, crafts, health and beauty products, all from vendors from across the Hudson Valley. A light lunch menu and full sports bar will be open at the golf course for use by all attendees.

The event is a fundraiser to benefit PARC, a non-profit dedicated to to securing the financial future of people with disabilities. Tickets are $25 in advance and may be purchased online, www.hvwineandchocolate.com
