Must Try Dish of the Week: Strawberry Roll at Wasabi, Nyack

On the other end of the season, temperatures in the upper 40’s feels freezing. But as a snowy February winds down, that weather is practically spring.

At Wasabi in Nyack, incredibly fresh and original sushi is the name of the game, and the strawberry roll is a great way to tease those bright spring flavors that are inching closer. In the Japanese bistro’s signature dish, spicy tuna and tobiko are carefully rolled and topped with juicy strawberry slices. We love the balance of chili spice and fruity sweetness, and the artistic plating doesn’t hurt either.

Go for the sushi rolls, and stay for the small-plate wonders and fusion entrees: from wasabi calamari to shrimp bruschetta with spicy garlic yuzu sauce.

Go: Wasabi, 110 Main St., Nyack. 845-358-7977.
