Have you ever wondered what a 100 point wine tastes like? Curious to taste wine from a First Growth Chateaux?

From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on March 11 at City Winery in Manhattan, Zachys of Scarsdale and well-known wine critic James Suckling will present a fabulous Bordeaux tasting event. Tickets start at $145 for general admission and can be purchased online.

This inaugural tasting will feature more than 150 wines hand-selected by Zachys and James Suckling, including selections from the benchmark vintages of 2010, 2009, 2005, and 2000, as well as the sleeper years of 2004, 2006, and 2008. Guests will experience firsthand the historic names of Latour, Montrose, and Leoville to the rising stars of Pavie Macquin and Smith Haut Lafitte.

Winemakers themselves will be on hand to personally pour and guide guests through the region and discuss the nuances of the various vintages: right versus left bank, first growths to fifth growths, the great second labels of Bordeaux, classic years to ripe years, vintages to decant or drink today and wines to cellar for tomorrow.

When: 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.m Tuesday, March 11
Where: City Winery, 155 Varick St., New York
