Must Try Dish of the Week: Irish Breakfast at Gildea’s, Pearl River

When you count up all of the parades— White Plains, Sound Shore, Yonkers, Pearl River— you start to realize that Saint Patrick’s Day isn’t just one day anymore, it’s a season. And a fun one, too.

While a pint of Guinness is a great way to celebrate, a traditional Irish breakfast at Gildea’s Restaurant and Bar in Pearl River fits the bill just as well. A heaping plate of baked beans, fried eggs, grilled tomatoes, black and white pudding, sausage, Irish bacon and raisin bread is served in the cozy pub, festively decorated with shamrocks, flags and twinkling lights. Hearty and satisfying, it’s the perfect meal to kick start a day of parade marching.

  1. As a Pearl River resident, I heartily approve this message. 😉 We had breakfast there on St. Patrick’s Day proper last year (we make our own Irish breakfast at home on parade day since my street is blocked off). Muddy Brook down the block also has Irish breakfast all day, every day!
