Restaurants and Friends Rally for Jill Rose’s Cancer Fight

jill rose chiboustJill Rose, chef-owner of Chiboust in Tarrytown, has been battling an aggressive form of breast cancer for months, but thanks to friends, family and fellow local restaurant owners, she isn’t alone.

Here are three ways you can stand by Jill Rose in her fight against cancer:

1. Taste for Life event

From 7 to 10 p.m. on May 1, there will be a Taste for Life benefit for Jill Rose at The Lodge at Hudson Harbor. Rita Houston of WFUV will provide a dance party soundtrack, along with gourmet food and beverages from vendors all over Westchester. There will also be a beer tasting with Captain Lawrence, and a silent auction with prizes like Yankee tickets, a private plane ride and even a private cooking class with Jill herself.

Tickets are $50 in advance (available online at and $60 at the door.

2. ChiBoost pizza at Polpettina locations

Rose’s friends at Polpettina have created a pizza in her honor, called ChiBoost and made with some of her favorite ingredients: ricotta, mozzarella, asiago, garlic, asparagus and proscuitto crudo. “There are so many ‘cancer fighter’ options, but I do love asparagus and it’s coming into season,” says Rose. “And the pizza combo is one of my favorites.”

Now through April 29, 100 percent of the proceeds from ChiBoost pie orders will go to Jill, and both Polpettina locations will participate.

3. Donate to the Jilly Fund

A site has been set up in Rose’s name to help her cover some of the overwhelming medical costs incurred by numerous cycles of chemotherapy and a double mastectomy.
