Chocolate Chip Cookies at North Star Restaurant, Pound Ridge: Must Try Dish of the Week

Sometimes a back-to-basics dessert is all you need to end a great meal.

No flame torch or temperamental souffle can touch this nostalgia-inducing treat. At North Star Restaurant in Pound Ridge, a plate of freshly baked cookies served with a shot of chilled milk is one of the mainstays on the locally sourced menu. And as appetizers and entrees come and go with the seasons, these home-style cookies remain. And we can see why— a perfectly crisped and buttery outside gives way to a gooey, chocolate-filled inside. There are four in an order, but don’t plan on sharing. And if you want to take it to the next level, go for the ice cream sandwich, made with the same cookies.

North Star Restaurant, 85 Westchester Ave., 914-764-0200, Hours: 5:30-9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 5:30-9:30 p.m. Wednesday, 5:30-10 p.m. Thursday, 5:30-10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 5-9 p.m. Sunday.
