Last Monday, I had the pleasure of spending the evening with my husband (believe me; it’s a rare occurrence these days!) and walking the High Line. It was a perfect low humidity, crystal-blue sky to a crimson-sunset evening. It was also the night that the U.S.A. team was playing in the World Cup. (I know you’re wondering where I’m going, my friends, but stay with me!) As we grabbed a bite and a sip in one of the fun bars below the High Line, U.S.A. scored the winning goal, and the crowds, all up and down the block, went wild. As they cheered and clapped, I got that feeling you get when you watch a parade and everyone is on the same beat. Feeling a mix strong mix of national unity and pride, I was so happy to be right then and there and that moment.
This, mis queridos amigos, leads me today’s post about the Frozen Lime Margarita.f In the spirit of nationalism and patriotism, I am creating a series of summery red, white, and blue cocktails in the weeks leading up to July 4th. Last week, I wrote about the red-the delightfully refreshing Strawberry Jalapeño Mojito-and next week we’ll explore blue (!), but today, it’s all about the frozen lime margarita!
So, what is the key to a great frozen margarita? Fresh and high-quality ingredients, of course. Use a white tequila that you like (pure agave, preferred…) fresh squeezed lime juice, and excellent quality orange liqueur. ¡Buen provecho! Enjoy!
Frozen Lime Margaritas are great for steamy summer evenings. This crowd-pleaser is the perfect barbecue refreshment! For bigger crowds, simply multiply amounts.
