Have you met our friends at Yonkers Brewing Company? If you’ve been to any farmers market, fundraiser, 5k, outdoor concert or plenty of other community events in the last two years, you’ve probably seen them. Now they need your help.
Co-founders John Rubbo and Nick Califano, along with head brewer Sharif Abou-Taleb, have been contract brewing out of Thomas Hooker Brewing Company in Connecticut while they prepare to move into their new home in the old Trolley Barn on the Yonkers watefront (92 Main Street) this fall.
The team has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help move things along, raising funds for everything from chairs and pint glasses to brewing equipment to help build out the tasting room. Contributions large and small are welcome. To donate go to http://kck.st/VoBLOc.
Fans of the local craft will also be pleased to hear it is now available in bottles. Previously only offered on tap at area bars and restaurants, you’ll find six and twelve-packs of the flagship lager at Stew Leonard’s and Walgreens on Yonkers Avenue.
