On the Hunt for Breakfast Sandwiches: Classic and Fancy, Too


We already know Megan McCaffrey is on a quest for the best breakfast sandwich in lohud land. And of course, around here, when we talk about breakfast sandwiches, we’re thinking bacon, egg and cheese. But are there any fancy breakfast sandwiches around? You know, like a homemade Egg McMuffin?

I had those at Azul, a now-closed cafe in Austin. Its loss is much lamented.

Or what about this?


We got these great English muffins mail order from Wolferman’s. And we used special egg rings we found on sale and Williams-Sonoma eons ago. That’s a breakfast of champions.

So? Any places around here make something like that?
