panko recall: IAN’S ALL NATURAL ITALIAN STYLE PANKO BREADCRUMBS
Stop & Shop Supermarkets has announced a voluntary panko recall of Ian’s All Natural Italian Style Panko Breadcrumbs, citing a misleading allergy warning.

Elevation Foods posted the panko recall because the product’s tagline reads “allergy-friendly, gluten free,” which may be misleading as the Japanese-style breadcrumbs contain wheat and could be dangerous for those suffering from a wheat allergy.

Here are the details on the recalled panko: Ian’s All Natural Italian Style Panko Bread Crumbs, 9 oz., UPC 74951277220 with an expiration date of May 31, 2015, October 11, 2015 and October 17, 2015.

There are no reports of illnesses related to the panko recall, and the Ian’s All Natural Italian Style Panko Breadcrumbs are considered safe for individuals who do not have a wheat allergy. If you bought the recalled product, the supermarket chain and Elevation Foods are encouraging customers to throw it away and bring the purchase receipt to Stop & Shop for a full refund.

For more information on the panko recall, call Elevation Foods at 800-543-6637 or Stop & Shop Customer Service at 1-800-767-7772.
