Re-Mixology: Sherry Martinez at Gleason’s, Peekskill


Welcome to Re-Mixology, a lohudfood video series featuring the talents of local barmen and barladies as they take a classic cocktail and adapt it for personal taste and seasonal ingredients. Each week is a new cocktail and a new take.

The cocktail: Sherry Martinez, a re-mix of the classic Martinez cocktail.
The re-mix: Substitute maraschino liqueur with Pedro Ximenez sherry.

Who makes it: Kacie McGuire. “I like this remix because you can experiment and use any sherry you’d like,” she says. “Pedro Ximinez is my choice but try a variety of different sherries, from dry to sweet, to find your favorite.”

How to make it: Sherry Martinez

2 ounces Greenhook Ginsmiths Old Tom Gin
1/ounce Pedro Ximenez sherry
1/2 ounce sweet vermouth
1 drop aromatic bitters
1 drop orange bitters
Brandied cherry garnish

Combine ingredients into mixing glass. Add ice and stir. Strain into glass and garnish with brandied cherry. Makes one drink.
