Anyone who’s ever tried to snap a photo of a delicious dish at a restaurant knows: shooting food can be challenging. Our photographers are here to help.

From 6 to 9 p.m. July 28 at Half Moon in Dobbs Ferry, you can learn to shoot beautiful food photos in an exclusive course taught by The Journal News and lohud.com photojournalists. Our experts will demonstrate how they frame, light and style photos of nine dishes in three distinct settings: inside, outside and in natural light — and teach you to do the same.

Chef Enrique Estrada of Half Moon will prepare a meal of passed dishes for guests to enjoy as they get insider advice from the pros. Your photos will be part of a gallery on lohud.com, and a selection of them will be published in The Journal News. The class, including dinner and photography lessons, is $50. Register at tickets.lohud.com.
