( John Meore/The Journal News )The Filling Station, the burger and fries restaurant housed in a former gas station in West Haverstraw, is donating 10 percent of its daily proceeds to the Jawonio Foundation between now and Sunday, Jan. 3.

“We are delighted to partner with The Filling Station in support of people with special needs in the Jawonio community” Jawonio CEO Jill Warner said. “By welcoming individuals and families of all ages, stages and abilities to share an inexpensive meal in a casual and comforting venue is really a gift. … We are so grateful to (owners) Stavros and Agata (Galanis) for sharing their gifts of humanity and charitable giving.”

Jawonio is encouraging patrons to share, like and post mealtime selfies on social media using hashtag #TFSxJawonio.
